The Window's Snipping tool is not working? Here is the fix

If you are getting the following message and are unable to record the videos using the snipping tool in Windows 11, this article is for you.

Recording Stopped
Something happened, and we've stopped recording. Wait a bit, then try again. If this continues, send us your feedback.

I faced the same problem and searched all over the internet for the solution which I did not find, except everyone telling me to repair, reset, or uninstall and install the snipping app, which obviously did not work for me. After researching and asking some experts I found the solution that made life so easy for me because it is the best app for screen recording on Windows OS, all other good apps are paid and quite cumbersome.

Here is the fix that worked for me:-

You have to disable your additional graphic cards

I have two Graphic Cards on my system

Intel(R) Iris(R) Xe Graphics

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 6GB

I had to disable my NVIDIA graphic card to make the recording function in the snipping tool work, here is how you can do it:-

  • Go to the search bar and type- Device Manager, and click on it. The following Window will open

  • In the Display adapters option, disable the NVIDIA graphic card whenever you want to record the screen using the snipping tool in Windows 11.
This method worked for me. You may try it as well if you have tried everything and nothing seems to be working for you.

If you really want to record a screen, the snipping tool is the best.
